Training background and methods: I really like to get my horses broke before I ever take them to the pattern. The pattern is the easy part once all of the correct foundation is laid.   He has been little bite of a challenge due to the fact that I did not geld him until the spring of his  4 yr old yr.  He is a bit harder in the mouth than I like but he is so willing it makes up for that.  He has been a treat to train.  He does whatever he is asked to do.  I look forward to having him start to learn to rope next, by someone other than me of course.  I take more time than some but I feel that helps in the long run.I do a lot of work to get my horses on their hind ends.  I like the "butt dragger"  style.  My good horse years ago solidified that style for me! I also like to think that my style is fairly easy for someone to ride behind.  I take care of the technical part in my training so that a student or client can just get on and make a run.  Foot placement in slow work is imperative.  Perfect practice sets up for your perfect run.

How Long have you owned your horse? He actually dropped in my pasture.  I had been excitedly waiting and of course the minute I turned my back there he was.  My husband told me, "well it looks like you finally got your palomino ."

What do you feel is unique about your horse? He likes to learn.  He also loves himself.  He is really arrogant and thinks he is pretty handsome thus the name-Hollywood.  He loves to just throw his blonde hair around. It is amusing.  He just picked everything up easier than any other I have ever ridden.  He is really a natural.  I was going to keep him a stud.  That is why he was gelded so late,the spring of his 4 yr old yr.  I was asked the question," would he make an average stud or an outstanding gelding?"  I made the appointment so I'll never answer the stud question.  Also, I didn't want to haul a stud with my 8 yr old daughter. 

What sort of activities do you and your horse participate in? I  have started him in poles.  I play with that as part of the basic training.  He is great on trails and has kind of had a rope thrown off of him.  That is the next step.  He is going to make a super all-around horse.  He has  a great mind for that.  I even went as far as to pull a friend of mine on skis just giving Ski Joring a try.  My friend and I are also avid downhill skiers and thought about trying this.  Maybe someday.  He took it like a champ. It looks like a lot of fun!!! 

Tell about your horse: He thinks he is handsome.  He rarely gets his barn name announced correctly.  He even was once announced as Taco.  He was the Northern Region Futurity 1D winner.  He was the Hawki Futurity Champion  07'.

What do you feed your horse? He is on my custom feed mix.  He doesn't need a lot because he is an easy keeper.  Also have him on 4 in 1 by United Vet.  They are my sponsor.  He is young and healthy.
