Sami Ross and Mr. Joe Dash (Visa) of Maple Grove, Minnesota just finished up a marvelous week at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Springfield, Illinois.  As she became the Reserve Champion in Barrels—the highest placing ever for any of our MHSRA barrel racers .

Sand Hill Quarter Horses are overwhelmed and extremely proud of Sami & Visa’s past & present accomplishments.  And, we can’t wait to see how this team continues onward to all their goals & dreams.

                                                at the 2007 National Rodeo finals in
                                                Springfield, Ill.

Sandhill quarter horses wishes to congratulate Sami Ross and is proud to announce the accomplishment of one it’s bred and trained quarter horses by Karol and Neil Strube.

Minnesota High School rodeo barrel racer makes history at this years 2007 National High School Rodeo Finals held last week in Springfield Illinois. Sami Ross of Maple Grove, Minnesota took 2nd place at this years national high school rodeo finals as the reserve champion in the barrel racing competition. Minnesota began its history in high school rodeo in 1956.Since then no Minnesota barrel racer have ever placed so high in the competition. Each year only the best of the best high school rodeo participants from the United States, Canada and Australia qualify through state and regional rodeos to compete against each other over a 7 day period. The results of which establish who are the top rodeo competitors in the nation for each year by each event. Throughout its history some of the top professional rodeo competitors have emerged from the opportunity that high school rodeo has provided to young people throughout the nation. Opportunities such as scholarships to attend Colleges and University’s around the nation while still participating and training in rodeo events.   

Sandhill Quarter horses is located Princeton, Minnesota and breeds and trains quarter horses for all levels of speed competitions and in a variety of events. The horse Mr. Joe Dash known as “Visa” is ridden and owned by Sami Ross.
